• User-Generated Content: We collect the information you provide when you create Articles, Listings, Directory Entries, Forum Topics, SkillShares, and other content. This includes text, images, and other media.
• Communications: We collect information when you report content or contact us for support.

b. Privacy and Display Preferences:

We collect and store your choices regarding how your identity and contact information are displayed on the platform. This includes:

• display_real_name (boolean): Your choice to show your real name or your pet name.
• display_email, display_whatsapp, display_phone (booleans): Your choices to show or hide specific contact methods.
• contact_preference: Your preferred method for being contacted by other members.

2. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we use information collected about you to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Operate and maintain the Recenter platform.
• Display content you create and attribute it to you based on your chosen display preferences.
• Facilitate connections and interactions between members (e.g., enabling contact for a marketplace listing).
• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience.
• Administer the platform, including content moderation and responding to reports.
• Notify you of updates or other information regarding the platform.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We are committed to maintaining your trust, and we want you to understand when and with whom we may share the information we collect.

• To Other Users: Your pet_name is your default identity on the platform. Your real_name and specific contact details (email, WhatsApp) are only shared on your content or profile if you explicitly set the corresponding display toggles (display_real_name, display_email, etc.) to true.
• By Law or to Protect Rights: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) comply with a legal obligation, (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Recenter, (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the platform, or (d) protect against legal liability.
• Third-Party Service Providers: We do not share your personal information with third-party advertisers. We may use third-party service providers for hosting and other technical infrastructure, and they will have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

You have control over your personal data and how it is displayed.

• Profile Settings: You can review and change your information, including your display preferences and contact details, at any time by logging into your account and editing your User Profile.
• Content Creation: When you create content, your identity will be displayed based on the preferences set in your profile at that time.
• Account Deletion: You may request to delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon your request, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, some information may be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use, and/or comply with legal requirements.

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

The Recenter Community platform is not intended for use by minors. We only permit adults to register and create accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.
